MBA Fees (2017/2018): Calculating the Cost of your Studies

Cost of an MBA

Over the past few decades, the average cost of attending a top U.S. MBA has increased faster than the rate of inflation.

First-year tuition fees at Harvard Business School rose to $72,000, a $8,325 hike over last year, the highest in its history! Twenty years ago, first-year tuition was $25,000.

Wharton MBA remains the most expensive MBA with the highest tuition fees is the only program that exceeds a total tuition of $150,000.

Harvard MBA: A 12% tuition increase. Really?

Harvard rose its tuition fees to $72,000, a $8,325 hike over last year. What it seems to be the highest increase in Harvard history is due to a reallocation of all non-course and program materials costs (course simulation, student support...) to the tuition category as opposed to including them in the "course and program materials fee" category

For the Class that matriculated this Fall, the tuition was $63,675, but all the course and program materials fee were separated out at $7,960. For the Class entering in Fall 2018, the tuition is $72,000 but the course and program materials fee has dropped to $2,500. The increase in tuition and course and program materials fee together is actually 4% and consistent with increases in past years.

The table below shows tuition fees of two-year, full-time MBA programs in United States.
