Cranfield University Names Maury Peiperl as New Director

The Cranfield University has appointed Professor Maury Peiperl as the new director of the School of Management and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Cranfield University.

His unique strengths in technology and management mean he is an excellent choice to lead Cranfield’s School of Management from its world-class position in executive education to the next level." said Sur Peter Gregson, Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor of Cranfield University.

Professor Peiperl has had a long academic experience. He was a professor at London Business School (LBS) from 2002 to 2004. He contributed to launch the LBS Executive MBA Global in partnership with Columbia Business School as an Associate Dean from 2000 to 2002. He joined IMD in 2004 where he serves as professor of Leadership and Strategic Change. During his time at IMD, he taught on numerous programs : MBA, Orchestrating Winning Performance, Driving Strategic Innovation... and developed executive programs for global firms.

Before becoming a professor, he worked at IBM, Merrill Lynch and LEK Consulting. He received a BS in electrical engineering and computer science from Princeton in 1982, an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1986 and a PhD in Organizational Behavior from Harvard University in 1993.

He will succeed interim director Joe Nellis in early 2015.
