McMaster University - DeGroote to Offer EMBA in Digital Transformation

The McMaster University's DeGroote School of Business in Canada will launch a new Executive MBA in Digital Transformation beginning in September 2016. The business school based in Ontario has partnered with theScore, a company that runs mobile sports platforms, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), IBM and SAS to offer this part-time program aimed at managers who want to use data to make strategic decisions, mitigate risk, and drive business innovation.

"In ten years, digital will be a part of every MBA", said DeGroote School of Business' Dean, Leonard Waverman. "This is not a technical program; it's a leadership program. We want our graduates to be able to ask the right questions".

The curriculum consists of four modules delivered over 13 months: three in Burlington and Toronto in Ontario and one in Palo Alto. Students will learn the foundations of core management (finance, marketing, strategy...) and the concepts of digital transformation, visit companies and startups in Silicon Valley, examine the challenges of leading an organization within an environment of technology partners. The program culminates in a capstone project where students will have the opportunity to apply what they have learned in class.

The total cost of the program is $CA 85,000 and includes course materials, accommodation, some meals, and transportation during the modules.
